July 23 - continued

The salty started pulling out of Lock 6 once we were in most of the way. I saw the Captain out on the bridge deck while the Pilot navigated his ship though the canal. I took note of his uniform so Anders could see it later. I didn't notice any flannel on him at all! LOL

At one point I took the long trip down all those stairs down to the galley to bring Anders and I up some dinner. Tonight it was fried rice and BBQ'd ribs and it was sure tasty. So we got lowered down and other ships were being raised.

Soon we were on our way on to lock 3, I took a look up on the railroad tracks and was glad I didn't see a train coming! Sure is weird to see the tracks stop there since the railroad bridge was up on the other side. Also took a look at the flight locks behind us realizing that we'd be seeing them much sooner than I wanted to, this canal trip to Hamilton is a rough trip, not too much sleep, a great way to start my trip with Anders!

The trucks seem small , the cars even smaller! We always wonder how many of them are getting annoyed having to wait for yet another ship while they wait in their cars. :)

Making the wall heading to Lock 3 we can see lots of volleyball games going on at the park, along with a few games of hockey! Coming up , lots of people in the viewing stands at Lock Three!

I told everyone to wave....so they waved! Personally I'm not sure...are the bars there to protect them or us?

On to Lock 2, and once we were out the skies were starting to get darker...and Donna was getting tired!

A beautiful end to the day, Red sky at night sailors delight! I told everyone it would be a great day tomorrow..:)

We were out on Lake Ontario by 9:30 that night. Long day! We had a nap for a couple hours and then Anders got called to take the ship though the piers at the Burlington Bridge and "park her" at the dock in Hamilton. We finally got to bed by 1AM.

But of course 8AM came and the phone rang...we've got passangers coming! time to get up! Whee ! here we go!
