Algoma Winter Meetings 2008

While the Men sit in meetings all day long, we ladies play!

I think Algoma gives us a schedule of events to participate in to keep us out of trouble, sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't! :o)

First off was breakfast with the guys, then we were off to a session of cardmaking with a representative from Michaels.

We each had a bag of goodies and a nice selection of cards to make. Then they scooted us off in limos to lunch at Coppolas in St Catharines.

After lunch they had us decorating cakes, not nessasarily a good thing to do for those of us who had wine for lunch....ha ha ha!

Prior to the activities of course everyone talks about what rooms they got, my friend Sherri was showing off her fridge and microwave in her room.

"Sugar Momma" from a local bakeshop showed us all how to decorate cakes with some yummy frosting and lemon filling.

We did pretty good considering we used popsicle sticks to spread the frosting! It was great though as I had to keep licking my fingers!

Tina was in charge of us during the 2 days she had activities she did a great job keeping us all organized . ( although some of us were late alot!)

We had lots of fun with friends we only see once a year and with our new friends too!

For some reason many threatened to squirt me with the tubed frosting? Tina made a cute cake with a "heart on" it. Afterwards they voted on which cake was most original

and which was most polished, well needless to say I didn't win neither but thats okay, the cake was yummy. :o) Yep, thats Brenda playing the spoons!

After we got back Sherri and I headed to the bar for a bit and met up with our old friend Trevor the bowling lane pro. Sandy showed up later to hang out while we waited for

the bus to take us to a dinner show at "oh Canada, eh"!

Good food and music was the agenda tonight along with a few "beverages" This fellow seemed to be intertained by all of us!

The next day Sherri and I opted out of the ladies intertainment of Spring Wreath making and a winery tour ( great activities!!) But shopping at JC PENNYS won out for us,

we even bought matching shirts to go bowling in later that night after dinner. We had 4 lanes of bowlers and had a great time with friends!

Yep after 2 strings we decided to do some "galactic bowling" trick shots! It was fun , the clock showed about 1am before we were done though!

The next Morning Sherri and I went out to get our hair done for the big do that night, the Captains and Chief Ball. Whooo hooooooo!!!

Anders got his 25 year award tonight!

Oh right, while we were out shopping , Sherri and I got some fancy glasses and diamond rings to wear at the Ball. :o)

Tim Dool announced his retirement tonight, we were all surprised by this. He autographed Algoma Books for the guys.

We had a great time dancing til they kicked us out of the ballroom.. great DJ!!

Great party! See you all next year!! Would love to see any photos YOU took of this night too! :o)
