Definitions for some special "Mrs. Captains" Words...:o)
| Bee Towers | oh my to explain this you'll have to read this..ha ha Just realize that Anders and I like to Joke around alot ..if you haven't figured that out yet that is...:o) |
| Coolbeans | a term we use in Vermont meaning "way cool" , "far out" "awesome" or something like that. I started calling Anders ship the Coolbeans as I thought it was a pretty neat ship and it made it fun instead of sad when he went to work...?? Well not fun but made me so I didn't dislike the ship so much I guess. :o) Sometimes hard to Share!! |
| Exclamation Points | look at a chart of the great lakes..there are !! these things everywhere..they look like exclamation points to me! But "sailor guys" call them lighthouses. Anders explanation of exclamation point out in the middle of the lake. |
| Mini Golf | Yep another one you'll just have to read..ha ha |
| Welland Canal | My Captains explanation here... |
| ETA | means ESTIMATED time of arrival. 2. Schedules should NOT be written in ink as they change like the weather in Vermont. 3. If he says the ship will be there Tuesday hmmm plan on it being there Thursday. :o) |
| "no rush"* | what does this mean? Well in the anticipation of my trip I was very anxious to get out to the ship and with the delays even more so. I was listening to the scanner one afternoon while Anders was in the Rouge river waiting for the Saginaw to go by so he could back out into the river and he called the Captain of the Saginaw and said "Don't worry there is NO rush" well. It was after that that the Buffalo beat him by 10 minutes to Sandusky so I had to rub that in just a bit...:o)( I suppose on Anders defense I guess the boom was still out and the lines still tied up so I suppose they couldn't have left anyway.....:o) But I still gotta remind him of that!

| Sailing | Well this is a WHOLE new subject!! Tell me How do you SAIL when you don't have Sails!!?????? :o) |
| Mud Lake | .Anders insists that the St. Marys River is just that, a River. Now, I see it as a few small lakes connected by rivers..hmmm Lake Nicole, Munescon Lake and Lake George. The ships all have to call in to Soo Traffic at the "Mud Lake Junction Bouy" Now Anders insists on just calling it the "juction bouy" since he feels its not a lake and he doesn't want me to be right..hee hee . Well a few weeks ago he was at the call in point and gave me a quick call on the phone just so I could hear him call in and the response he was going to get from Soo traffic...well I heard on the phone. "Soo Traffic , The Algolake", then Soo Traffic responded "Algolake, yes up at mudlake"..ha ha ha I laughed so hard I almost fell down!! Well once again today Anders made a quick call to me right when he was calling in again..."Soo Traffic , the Algolake", then Soo Traffic responded "Algolake, Soo traffic", Anders then says " Up a the Junction Bouy" and Soo Traffic responds, " Roger, Up at Mud Lake Junction" ha ha ha !! Once again his plan was foiled!! Oh its going to be a GREAT day!! ( proof of my support from Soo traffic, Thanks guys!!! ) More information on Mud lake |
