Just photos of some of the huge roller coasters at this park. If you'ld like to see a panoramic view of Cedar Point Amusement Park be prepared its a big file which is why I put it on its own page. Neat shot though. They say this is the best amusement park in the world with the largest collection of roller coasters and I think two of the Worlds largest. There are screams to be heard everywhere thats for sure!
We had cleared lock 8 and the piers in Port Colburne by 0200 (2:00AM) after having to having to slow down a bit to meet the Maritime Trader in a good spot. ( It was pretty neat because we heard a woman speaking to Seaway Welland on the radio from that ship and Anders told me it was Sarah , who is training Captain! I met her when she was a Cadet. Good for her! ) We also had to tie up below lock 8 and wait for a Algoma Ship that was loading supplies at lock 8. We slept til around noon and got up for some lunch. ( okay so now I've slept 16 hours since I've been here .. yes, I'm keeping track..:o) Acutually Anders has to , he has a sleep log to record his sleep in to be sure hes getting enough. ) We were passing Cedar Point Park at 1726 ( 5:26PM) July 18th .
1812 ( 6:12PM) we have transited the tricky channels on the way to the dock and Anders is starting his turn in the basin. Now I think this is really neat as he basically turns the ship on a dime here. The mate is up front spotting the wall. The deck Cadet is up there with him too.
My husband Anders as hes "parking" the ship. I asked him can't you at least LOOK like your stressed out ? :o) I think this is where he has the most fun when he gets to "play boat" Hes so good at it too. Yeah I brag, but I think I can ...:o) I sure love him and now as I am writing this sure wish he'ld hurry up and get home. I miss him!
Photos above: Calvin being lowered down to tie up the ship. - walking along with the lines.
My flag :o) Funny how it means so much more to me now that I'm living in a different country. I think I took it for granted before. I love seeing my flag ! Course I love living in Canada too and am growing attached to my flag there too ..:o) Once again I went down to get Anders and my dinner ..yep 5 flights down, 5 flights up...)
We were all tied up by 1845 ( 6:45PM) We decided to get off the ship and go play mini golf at Challange Park down at Cedar Point. After I was cleared by the Immagration Officer, we had to wait for her to arrive to clear me. Anders loves teasing me that I have to be cleared to enter my own country but he doesn't. Dang she didn't have her stamp with her so I couldn't get my passport stamped either. ( I got it stamped once in Duluth :o) After she left Anders called a taxi and I climbed down that stinking ladder to the dock. ( its WAY up there here) We have quite a mini golf champion ship going with me being 10 games ahead of the Captain guy at this point in time. We've been doing this since I met him wayyyyyyy back. ( our 6th anniversay this august..:o)
So we got to the the park, not a totally easy task. Taxi Ride there and back for two people $40.00, fee for crossing the bridge??? $10.00!!, playing mini golf $15.00, a couple of refreshing drinks afterwards $35.00 ...but getting off the ship for some R and R for my sailor guy? Priceless!
He lost the first game pretty bad with me leading by over 8 strokes, but he pulled it off the second game by one stroke only though. So we are still tied in our Championship match.
So Back to the Ship we went with an almost blind taxi triver I think....yikes...
